Ready to dig out the crystal ball to figure out which internet marketing guru is right for you?
Internet Marketing is big business. During this economic recession, more and more people are turning to the Internet as a way to make money. There are a lot of “gurus” out there wanting to sell you their plan.
You can find an Internet business that is right for your. You can also find the perfect way to market that business. You can be successful! No swami needed.
Seven ways to tell who’s right for you?
1. Are they doing what they are teaching you? Look at what you are being taught. Is the person teaching you, using what he is teaching. If not a red flag should go up! Don’t buy anything unless you understand exactly what you are getting.
2. If it is too good to be true then it is. If you are getting promises of how easy it is and about how much money you are going to get without turning a lick…. run in the other direction.
3. Are they an expert in their field? It is pretty easy to check some out on the Internet. So check them out! What have they produced? What is their experience? What is their track record?
4. Does this expert talk your language? If you are new to the Internet pick some one that talks directly to you and not above your head. If you have been around the block once or twice pick some one that talks on that level.
5. Are they real? Are they selling you the pie in the sky or are they selling what is real, with real help in the real world. There is a lot to learn. Internet marketing is not only what to do but also how to do it. Do they give you the how? Do they connect all of the dots so you get your product out?
6. Is it fact or opinion? There is a sea of data out there. Facts work and opinion is just that, opinion. Look to see if what they are selling is working. Get the proof. Check out the testimonials. Look at the web sites of those giving testimonials.
“Wise men speak because they have something to say: Fools because they have to say something.” -Plato
7. Once you have chosen a person to follow, are you going to do it? Use common sense, look, listen and do. Follow what they say to do. Remember they may be the expert but you are the captain of your ship. Once you have completely learned the basics you can be creative. But learn the basics well.
“The three great essentials to achieve anything worth while are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-itiveness; third, common sense.” -Thomas Alva Edison, Famous American Inventor with 1,093 patents.
Here are professional bloggers I follow all of the time. They give good advice, speak to me, do what they are teaching and they are experts. Check out Problogger , Darren Rowse and Copyblogger, Brian Clark.
To your success!

Great quotes. I enjoy the Plato one.
Yes, some internet gurus make it sound like you can make thousands of dollars with minimal effort. There’s no instant gratification in this industry, that’s for sure! The beauty is that all of the work pays off if you do it smart, and have a plan.
Yes, Sheila, sometimes it’s hard to know who to follow. I found those who tell you how rich you can become in just a few weeks… or you can make tons of money without having to invest a dime are the most dangerous Gurus out there. It is really a scam. It goes back to the old adage of “There’s no free lunch.” And that means time and money. I find that some of the less knows Gurus are some of the most credible. You really have to do your homework…. Or stay in touch with Sheila so she can look into her crystal ball.
8220;Are they doing what they are teaching you” is the best i think. It’s easy to test too
Good list and very relevant
That little film, was a huge eye opener for me. Here I sit, with my Starbucks, wireless internet. Just dropped my daughter off at a great preschool, other two are at a fantastic public school. We are warm, fed, have money in the bank and a great pay check each week. I am so blessed! Soooo Blessed! I will think of those less fortunate and count my blessings! Thank you for taking the time to humble me. Camille

Thanks for your comments. It is always good to have additional advice to what I have to say.
There you go, another very detailed post there and trust that I do most of the following before just following the herd.
I say, unless they are willing to admit, that you will be working for cheaper than Third World sweat labor for the first few months. They are scammers. It is very rare that a blog takes off from the starting line, with money pouring in, especially now, when the Blogosphere is so bloated. It is tenacity and attention to detail that, will pan out in the long run.
