Screen Capture Software – Only the Good Friday

by sheila on April 3, 2009

Free Screen Capture Software makes for a pretty Good Friday.

I have found two tools I really like. They are simple to use, offer storage space and have easy to follow tutorials. Both can be downloaded to a Mac or PC.

I use Skitch.com all the time. I click on the icon snap a picture of my screen, resize it, drag it to my computer and upload it onto my blog.

Text and arrows are two of the tools you can use to highlight your screen capture. This is so simple!

I love Skitch because I can imediately resize the image to fit my blog. I love the drag feature and I can return to what I was doing in just seconds.

Jing Project from TextSmith is the second tool I use. It is simple and offers upgrades on storage and more advanced tools. Jing Project offers video casting of your screen and an inexpensive upgrade so you can post your videos to YouTube.

Once you have the free Jing tools down. I would suggest up grading to SmithText “Screencast.com”. For a nominal fee you will be come a wiz at adding media to you blog.

Check these out. It is fun and the added media will make you look like an expert in no time.

Have a Good Friday!

Sheila

P.S. You can forward Only the Good Friday…post, twitter and do good. Also visit my Good Friday Friends: Kathy has a really funny Friday blog and Shelly is on her 24 Only The Good Friday Blog.

P.S.S. Imagine all of he ways you can use these tools. Free screen capture software will make your imagination run wild.

Hi Sheila,

Well that’s good info!
It’s easy to make screenshots on a Mac, but to have those arrow tools is really a scoop. I’ll check that out!

And thank you for bringing a shot from my Blog!!

C ya! :-)

I don’t screen capture much, but have wondered how to. Thanks a million!

As easy as it is on a Mac, those arrows are too cool! Happy OtGF!

I think you could be interested in something like DemoCreator, which records the computer screen as video and you can export the picture of any frame, just like taking a screenshot.

I don’t do full screen captures but use Screen Grab Pro to get smaller elements. I’ve had it a few years now and find it very simple to use, free too.

I’m visiting from the 31 Day Better Blog Challenge. Thought I’d get a look at some of the other blogs and bloggers.
