Susan Boyle’s fifteen minutes has made her famous. With the power of television and social media on the internet Susan has become world renown. As of today 43,750.403 people have viewed the Youtube video of her performance.
What Can You Learn From Susan?
1. Dream a dream. Susan sang “I Dream A Dream” from Les Misérables. The song couldn’t have been more perfect. To aspire to any thing the you must imagine it..dream it. “Alternatives, and particularly desirable alternatives, grow only on imaginary trees.”- Saul Bellow
2. Know your gifts. Susan knew her talent. We each have the things we love, the gifts we can share. What are your gifts? Are you a writer? A listener? A gardener?
3. Be your self. Susan is the perfect example of just being your self. She knew who she was and was not afraid to let her light shine.
4. Your 15 minutes. Make it happen. Susan’s fame comes not only because she wanted it, she made it happen by taking advantage of the opportunity presented. “When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action steps.”
Confucius
7. Hold on to your dreams. Susan held on to her dream. It may seem that success comes easy to others. That others get a lucky breaks. First you must have a dream. Know your gifts. Create and take advantage of your 15 minutes. Most importantly by pass the nay-sayers. Find and surround yourself with those who support you. Hold on to your dreams. “Nothing at all will be attempted if all possible objections must first be overcome.” – Samuel Johnson

Hi Sheila,
Don’t know if I learned something from her..
But I think that this justifies concepts like “Britain’s got Talent”.
If not for that she wouldn’t be found… 47 years.. Hmm, maybe I have learned something anyway…
It’s never too late to go for it!!??

Susan Boyle is a perfect example of a late bloomer, which I imagine myself to me, and the many others I meet along the way!!
A Baby-Boomer Late Bloomer!!
Maybe that’s what we all are in our generation!!

Sheila,
At first glance, I was oohing & ahhing at the simple message you present in today’s post. Being in my fifties and having had a life with many mentors & guides, I have had exposure to these tips and they can be found in my opinions & beliefs.
As I have told you before, I really like your blog & your style.
As I looked over the blog to capture ideas of your creative talent, it occurred to me, just how important blogging is in the future of our world.
There are many people, young & old, who have just set foot on this journey of self-discovery. Blogging is fast becoming the media of communication where individuals will come across these ideas, maybe for the first time.
Consequently, what was at first a way to express ourselves in a safe & open-minded environment, is now becoming the tools that will help us do our part in changing the world, one post at a time.
There is no doubt in my mind that your blog will eventually find it’s way into the hearts & minds of many people.
Keep up the good work.

She is really an example to all “boomers.” It’s never to late to pursue your dreams. She really made it happen for herself… and now has the support of millions of others.

Beautifully stated. May we all recogize our fifteen minutes and use it to the fullest.

Beautifully said!
These are real words of wisdom for us all to follow, whatever our age. If we still have an unfulfilled dream inside of us, and many of us do, it is never too late to make that dream a reality.
Thank you for your beautiful message.
With abundant blessings.

Amanda,
It is real easy to let so called “life” get in the way of our dreams. I still have a few that I am holding on to. I have always wanted to write. Blogging has helped a lot. I feel like I am getting better at writing. I have the domain name bought for my writing site. I even have things written. Hmmm just realized something. Part of the dream is doing the actions that make the dream come true.
Thank you for commenting.
