Has the media frenzy and twitter caused a fear pandemic?
I have lived this one before, back in 1976. We survived! – The fear and all.
Seth Godin gives one of the best commentaries I have seen on this whole situation. Panic is a substitute for planning, fore thought and action.
You have the ability to take action. It is quite simple.
Eat healthy: Does your diet consist of lots of raw fruits and vegetables. Do you get out in to open space and walk or run? Do you get daily exercise?
Cut out the sugar: Eating sugar is a sure way to drop you immune system. It is figured that each Americans consume 150 1bs of sugar every year.
Normal routine: Is washing your hands often your normal routine? A quick rinse does not count. Washing your hands for 20 seconds (the time it takes to sing “Happy Birthday”) with soap and water should be common practice.
Learn from the doctors: It is interesting that as a general rule the doctors during the “Great Pandemic” of 1918 did not get sick. They could easily confront the disease, and the patients. They took action and helped.
Who do you hang with? We are influenced by the people we are around. Do you have people in your life that are critical or invalidating? Hanging with people who truly support you is definitely a healthy choice. If you are sick often….take a look.
What are you paying forward? Are you pushing forward the fear or the action? “Everyone believes very easily whatever they fear or desire.” – Jean de La Fontaine – French Poet
To your health and happiness!
Sheila
P.S. “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt

Sheila~
Brilliant. I completely lit up as I read your words. I hope more people will see this post and understand its true meaning.
As the girls at my office freak out because it just hit Maine I sit here using Ho’oponopono, thinking positive thoughts and determining to use EFT to cut the sugar habit.
Just brilliant.

Sheila,
Ditto on the BRILLIANT.
and just a thought, has anyone else noticed how there always seems to some major distraction in the news when promises that have been made are being broken or large groups of people are being heard on issues such as accountability.
Las Vegas is the number one state in foreclosures and I have yet to meet one person that has received any assistance from the money that the banks have received.

Shelia,
Yes, enhances! I agree with you and it amazing to notice how people continue to subject themselves to these fear tactics. I appreciate the quote by Roosevelt. Also, thanks for linking to that post by Seth. Cheers!

Fear breeds more fear. The Roosevelt quote is very apt as well. The only thing to fear is the fear itself. It is law of attraction in action. The more we focus on what we fear, the more we draw it to us. There are certain steps we can take to stay healthy and probably the most important of those is mixing with people with a positive attitude, where flu is not even on their radar.
Great article, well written!
