Words make for pretty interesting games. Remember the word games you played in school? Wasn’t it fun to play hangman, do crossword puzzles, rhyme words, write poetry and unscramble secret codes.
Twitter has become a famous word game; relaying your message in just 140 characters. We do keyword searches to find out what people are looking for on the internet. We look for the perfect words for our domain names, our towns, even our children.
We have become walking billboards with words on our hats, shirts, shoes, pants and purses. We even tattoo words on our bodies
Whole books are filled with word puzzles. Entire buildings are built and dedicated to housing books full of words written down for others to read. The Internet is an exchange of words.
Finding the perfect words to express your thoughts or emotions has created a huge card industry. 136 million Mother’s Day cards will be sold this year. Now that is what I call a big game.
Spoken or written, words are symbols of action, thought and ideas.
I love words. I love to look up the meaning of words. I own 9 different dictionaries. I know the importance of knowing the meaning of words. When I am confused and do not understand something I know that there is a word there, I do not fully understand.
I have to thank Alik Levin of “Practice This”, for turning me on to Wordle.net. Talk about a fun word game! You provide the text and Wordle creates word clouds. You can pick the fonts and colors of your word clouds to suit your taste. You get to keep your very own cloud.
This is my blog cloud.
This my twitter cloud.
This is a cloud of Karen Blundell’s blog. You can see from this cloud why I recommend her for installing WordPress and for free WordPress themes.
Give this a whirl and let me know what you think.
Have a good Friday! On this “Good Friday”.
Sheila
P.S. Be sure to visit “Practice This” to get Alik’s take on Wordle. Also see what my Only The Good Friday friends Kathy and Shelly have for you today.
P.P.S. A special thanks to Jonathan Feinberg for creating Wardle.net. What a pleasure. What a great word game.

Oh… Wordle looks great. Thanks for the tip. I’m going to use it on Monday and make a Birthday card for my daughter, Emily.
I can think of all sorts of exciting things to do with it.
Again… thanks!
