Chinese Symbol For Happiness
Here are some really great happiness quotes for OtGF. I am a quote nut.
1. “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.” – Herman Cain
2. ” Happiness is a habit—cultivate it.” – Elbert Hubbard
3. ” Happiness held is the seed; happiness shared is the flower. – Unknown
4.“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.” – Albert Einstein
5. “Happiness comes when your work and words are of benefit to yourself and others.” – Buddha
6. “The pursuit of happiness is a most ridiculous phrase, if you pursue happiness you’ll never find it.” C.P. Snow
7. “Consider the following. We humans are social beings. We come into the world as the result of others’ actions. We survive here in dependence on others. Whether we like it or not, there is hardly a moment of our lives when we do not benefit from others’ activities. For this reason it is hardly surprising that most of our happiness arises in the context of our relationships with others.” The Dalai Lama
8. “Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action.” – Benjamin Disraeli
9. “What we call the secret of happiness is no more a secret than our willingness to choose life. – Leo Buscaglia
10. “Happiness, is not itself an emotion. It is a word which states a condition, and the anatomy of that condition is interest. Happiness you could say is the overcoming of not unknowable obstacles toward a known goal.” – L. Ron Hubbard
You will love this video from The Way To Happiness.org. The principle is to be worthy of trust. I love how the parent is the one that must be trustworthy.
Be Happy!

P.S. In your pursuit of happiness check out my OtGF friends, Kathy and Shelly.

I like all these a lot. Especially Cain’s “Happiness is key to success.” – do what you like, do what makes you happy – become successful.
Good stuff!

Hello Sheila,
” Happiness is a habit—cultivate it.” – Elbert Hubbard
That’s is one of the best of all this . So true by itself that we need to cultivate it as an habit , many a time in this crazy world we forget how to find happiness in all our stress and worries .

I love the Chinese symbols. And of course, I could spend all day looking at the Way To Happiness videos. So… good… so true and worthwhile.
Hope you all have a “Happy” day. I’m happy… the sun’s out in this neck of the woods… after many days of rain.

My favorite:“Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action.” I think it is the only one that is on my own quote list, but I may have to add more!
Thanks for these…and have a great weekend!

Hi Sheila,
you ask a very interesting question there. I recently had my own shot at defining happiness, which aims to be more “scientific” and “objective” despite being a subjective feeling: http://www.spreadinghappiness.org/2009/08/what-is-happiness/
I would love to hear your thoughts!
Thank you,
Nick
