Marketing by Email

Marketing by email should be one of the first marketing campaigns any business implements. Why?

Email marketing is “permission based marketing” your potential customer has given you permission to send them information and sell to them.
Targeted email goes directly to the customer that wants to buy your products.
Effective email marketing = sales.
It is easy to get up and running. With great email marketing systems, it is easy to find affordable email marketing.
Bulk emails can go out to every person you have gotten permission from. This could be as little as one person or thousands of people.

Creating email marketing lists- getting permission.

Gather email addresses when you are getting other basic data from your clients. This works well for any brick and mortar business; doctors offices, tire store, bookstore and real estate offices, just to name a few.

Gather email address when you hold special events. This can be done with drawings, and registration. I like to include the reason I am asking for their email address. It can be written right under the request. You can use something like “For event updates and future promotions.”

Gather emails on your website. This is called targeted opt in. You simply ask for your readers to give you their name and email in exchange for a free report, newsletter video or some other valuable information. Your web site is the perfect place to start.

Gather emails by squeeze page. This is similar to getting targeted opt in from your readers, except you use a page only for the purpose of getting them to give you their information, (hence the name squeeze page). You offer something free in exchange.

You will find that people are concerned about receiving spam or unwanted emails. Always assure them you hate spam and will not be giving away or selling their email address. The very first email they receive from you should remind them how you got their email address, this works so great!
