Opt in e-mails come into being when a person has given permission to receive bulk emails. Using email best practices are to the benefit of all email marketers. When taking advantage of using email as a way to target clients to send information and advertise products, it is important to get permission so that your mail is not considered spam or junk mail.
Spam is unsolicited emails that are sent out in bulk. You know the ones; they fill your spam box. The opportunity to opt out from receiving the mail is not on the bottom of spam. Opt in emails give you the choice to continue or discontinue to receive data from the sender.
Fortunately our email servers now have great spam filters that protect us from getting those unsolicited bulk emails.
Confirmed opt in or double opt in is used by most Internet marketers as a way of being sure that their email lists are made up of people who really want to hear from them.
For example; if you sign up to receive a report or news letter by email, you will be asked to go to your mail box and confirm that you want to receive information. This works because it insures that the person submitting their name and email is legit. It also creates a targeted email list of those people who really want to hear from the marketer.
From a marketer’s stand point you want to spend your time doing effective email marketing. You want willing and waiting customers. You only want those who are interested in what you have to offer.
As an opt in emails recipient you want to be able to choose who you want to be in communication with. You want control of whom you hear from.
Your email best practices consists of permission marketing. It works.
