How To Work At Home

by sheila on December 23, 2009

For many working at home is a new adventure. It really does take discipline to manage time and family.

How to work at home

1. Create a distraction free space. Set up an office for work away from the TV and the fridge.

2. Get dressed. It sounds really good to hang out in you PJs all day, but getting dressed creates the idea “you are at work”.

3. Go to work. Set a schedule for your self. During that time let the answering machine pick up personal calls.

4. Take a break. Get out -get space – take a walk. Refresh yourself so you can get more done.

5. Work your schedule around family. I like to take the early shift. Way out here in the West I can take the eastern calls and be done with work by noon.

6. As always…set goals for your self. How do you know where you are going if you don’t know where you want to go?

7. Have fun!

I am working at getting myself out there and doing what I can to make money some how. I am working on a new project and not giving any details just yet but I will say, based on what you have here, blogging or working from home should be just like any other job, except at home.

You have to find a way to get done what you set out to achieve so you can make it work for you. Otherwise, it’s just not going to work. That’s my opinion as I’m starting out in this whole new world of blogging as a career.
