An Internet Business can sound pretty darn good, especially in times like these. Job lay offs hit the news every day. But are you cut out to make it in an online business?

If you were to listen to some of the loud Internet Marketing hype, ‘anyone can make it’. Now that is true to a certain extent. I suppose anyone could learn the game. But how many will really win is another story.

I doesn’t matter weather you choose to make money by blogging, providing a service, making and selling digital products, affiliate marketing etc. It is going to take some major doing on your part.

In just the last 2 years the changes in just marketing alone have been huge! We have gone from simple blogs to needing to know how to enhance our blogs with audio and now with video.

Do you have what it takes to run an Internet business?

  • Time: It takes a lot of time to learn the tools of success.
  • Time: To learn the technical parts of running your computer and the tools of your business.
  • Money: Start ups can be from free on up in to the thousands, depending on what you choose to do. You will do best to start on a gradient scale and build up to what you can afford to spend.
  • Willingness: Do you have willingness to learn. There is a lot of learning, especially for a Newbie.
  • Willingness: To learn your computer and the Internet. Again there is a lot to learn.
  • Willingness: To learn marketing. Marketing it the key to making your business a huge success.
  • Patience: “Endurance is patience concentrated.” -Thomas Carlyle- Can you endure the ruff spots?
  • Optimism: Are you an optimistic person? Can hope about the future and about your success sustain you?
  • Ability: Are you one of those people that have ability to make things go right?
  • Action: I see the words “Just Do It” all of the time. Are you someone who can stop worrying, stop nit picking, and Just Do It?

I found the learning gradient very steep. I was not tech. savvy and that has been the biggest stumbling block. I think there is more tech. help out there now… than when I started.

I think you have to be honest with yourself, and ask… “Am I willing to do what it takes?” You really need to be committed in order to over come the hurdles that come up every day.

I think it’s important to remember that being successful at an internet business is not something that will come easily. The means of reaching your audience may be easier, and quicker, but you still have to provide value to your visitors, especially if you are selling a product or service. You can’t just register http://www.givememoney.com and expect to be an entrepreneur. It’s gonna take work!

I believe that truly, anyone CAN do it. Some people might need help with technical issues, but there’s plenty of resources online where people will glady help you out. However, no one can instill the qualities of hard work and persistence into you. That has to come from you.
