Finding Your WordPress Plugins

I am sure every WordPress blogger has a list of plugins that they love. But lets start with how to go about finding those WordPress plugins that are suggested.

Finding Your WordPress Plugins

Finding and adding plugins is an easy task. When ever I want to find some thing I do a Google search. For example, I have heard I need a plugin that sets up my RSS Feed, I can search the term RSS feed wordpress. Or I can search for the name of a RSS feed plugin (Feedburner) that had been recommended.

I get two things from these search results. First I can see that this plugin can be uploaded right from my WordPress dashboard. Second I can see who is recommending this plugin

Locating WordPress Plugins In Your Dashboard

Being webmaster over your site is what makes WordPress so grand. The WordPress dashboard is set up so you can create and change your site to suite your needs.

You will find that you can add your plugins right on your dashboard. All of the essential plugins can be uploaded just by clicking on the plug icon in your left side bar.

You can search for a plugin by name or by common tag. (I have found that I need the exact name when I want a particular plugin. Doing a Google Search will give you the exact name.)

Now that you know how to find plugins, we will be looking at plugins that are essential to running your WordPress blog.
