Swipe File For Internet Marketers

Swipe files are used by Internet Marketers as a way to come up ideas and plans for product, marketing campaigns and marketing tools.

Have you ever gathered a swipe file?

• You are remodeling you house, so you buy magazines and tear out the pictures of the ideas you like the best.
• Your recipe box is full of recipes you swiped from mom and grandma.
• You see a container garden that your really like, you run down to the local nursery and buy similar plants an create your own container garden.
• You are refurbishing a 1964 Mustang, so you swipe ideas from other refurbished Mustangs you see online.
• The dress worn by a famous actress in a movie becomes the new fashion rage.

I like to keep a swipe file of gardening ideas. I collect pictures and ideas all winter (beating the winter blahs). By the time Spring rolls around, I know exactly what I want my yard to look like.

I also keep an Internet Marketers swipe file. I make a folder for each kind of file. Headline files, sales pages, opt in pages, and legal pages. Later when I need to make those pages for my self, I have plenty of ideas to work from.

This works when you know how to use what you have swiped. Not every girl going to the prom can wear the gorgeous dress Sandra Bullock wore to the Oscars. Not every paint color you like is going to look great in you house. All sales copy does not work in every situation.
