3 Affiliate Marketing Mistakes You Don’t Need To Make

Are you making mistakes in you affiliate marketing that are costing you commissions?

It doesn’t matter if you are Newbie or well versed in affiliate marketing you could be making these three mistakes:

1. Jumping from program to program. Whoa Nelly….hold on there sport. Ya just got in to a program and your looking to do something else?

Start with one program and learn it well. Push all the buttons, ring all the bells and blow all the whistles. Time is valuable, so get into a program and learn it from top to bottom before you move onto the next gig.

There are a lot of excellent affiliate programs on the net. And they are getting better all of the time. But the grass is not always greener on the other side of the hill.

And there a lot of good systems for running programs. Same thing, get in learn that system well. Do all of the steps. Be successful.

Be consistent in you actions. Complete what you have started.

You will be amazed at how much easier it will be to add a new program or system once you totally understand and use the current program you have gotten into..

2. Not buying the product you are promoting. Mastering affiliate marketing takes knowing what you are selling.

When you go to buy a new computer, do you find yourself looking for the salesman who knows all about the computers in the store?

The same principle applies to online sales. You want the seller to know the product. You want to feel confident in making your purchase.

Buying and using the products will give you the power to be a super duper salesman.

3. Failing to write your own copy. Often the vendors will write copy you can use for you website or for your email campaigns. Don’t be tempted to copy and paste.

Now there is nothing wrong with getting ideas of what to write from the vendors copy. But write your own thoughts and reviews of the product. Genuine salesmanship goes along way to when it comes to increasing your commissions. This also goes along with buying the product so that you know what you are promoting.

As you know I am a big fan of starting with Clickbank. It is an affiliate program that takes care of all the logistics. You just need to find a Clickbank product and promote it. Clickbank takes care of the rest.

One of the finest affiliate systems I have ever joined came from Anik Singal. That system is no longer available.

You are in luck! Anik and his partner have just released a new affiliate system so you can make oodles of money with Clickbank. With this system you will learn all the ins and outs of Clickbank. It is an easy to follow step by step program any one can do. Plus you bring in your first commissions in as little as 3 days.

Go now to “Newbies Learn Clickbank”. You will be so impressed and successful in affiliate marketing.

  1. I couldn’t have said it better myself, Sheila. It’s so refreshing to read these kinds of tips from someone who obviously knows her rear end from third base when it comes to affiliate marketing!

I especially appreciate your sound advice about writing your own copy. Yes! Take what the vendor may provide you with and then edit it and make it your own if that’s easier for you. No problem with that. Otherwise, speak in your own voice and just be honest about your experience with the product, program, or service. People will hear the genuineness in your words.

      Thanks Melanie,

I have to admit that finding my rear end has been a little tough at times. So this does come from experience. Some times I think I have to learn the hard way.

  2. Hello from Montana:

I really appreciate all the tips and techniques you are sharing. I am certainly guilty of trying and buying the latest when what I have is just fine.

We have two kids ( well, they are 26 and 41) who live in SLC so next time I am there we will have a cup of tea.

    Thanks again.

Be sure to let me know when you are in SLC. My sister is @kathygriffiths. We would love to meet up and swap ideas and tales.

  3. Writing your own copy is sound advice… especially if your readers are use to your style of writing.

I often wish I could rewrite some of the sales pages of those programs I want to promote. Sometimes the product is great but the sales page is lacking or is so “busy” customers may be turned off.

However, I think that this can be over come by having a good relationship with your customers as well a promoting the product’s benefits convincingly.

I absolutely agree with part #1. Too many people jump from offer to offer, or technique to technique. Only by staying with one thing for a long period of time can you actually get some experience, make some good mistakes, and learn something.
