Making The Most Of Search Engine Optimization – Site Checklist


Now lets make a check of your site to see if you are making the most of Search Engine Optimization.

SEO Checklist

  1. You blog on WordPress.
  2. You are using All In One SEO plugin.
  3. You have a site map. In WordPress use Google XML Sitemaps plugin.
  4. You use keywords in the title of your post.
  5. You use those same keywords in the first and last sentence of your post.
  6. You use keywords in subtitles of your post.
  7. You use related keywords in the body of your post.
  8. You use internal links in your posts (links to other posts on your site).
  9. You do not have a blogroll that leaks pagerank from your site.
  10. You balance any outgoing links to other sites with internal links. (Using the WordPress Related Posts Plugin helps with this.)
  11. You use keywords as your anchor text (the highlighted words that send you to other links.)
  12. You are using “SEO Expert” to drive traffic to your blog.

Remember, we started with SEO because you will be using it in:

  • Article Marketing
  • Blog Marketing
  • Email Marketing
  • Social Networking
  • Video Marketing
  • Offline Marketing

  1. Another SEO tip I use is to use keywords in my blog post subtitles. Instead of just bolding subtitles, I use the “Heading” options in my WordPress options bar. That way, my subtitles as well as my main title become SEO friendly.

      I found that the more I use the check list the easier it becomes. I don’t even think about most of it any more.
