When it comes to keeping up with your niche sites are you starving for content? Do you need ideas for all the component parts of a good site? Or maybe you have a time issue?
Using PLR (Private Label Rights) has been the solution for me.
What is PLR?
Well, lets get that answered by PLR expert, Nicole Dean.
What Can you Do with PLR Articles?
By Nicole Dean
You may have seen the term Private Label Rights or PLR articles being tossed around frequently lately. PLR articles are articles you can buy (usually in packages or as part of a membership) that you may edit and use as you wish. Unlike free reprint articles, you are not required to link back to anyone else’s website which makes them appealing to many web publishers.
Once you understand the concept behind PLR articles, you can see why they are appealing. Most people can envision the value of adding the articles to their websites. But, did you know there are more ways to use PLR articles than that?
1. Add them to your blog.
Similar to adding PLR articles to your website, you can take excerpts and use them on your blog for fresh content. Whether you take a portion and use it as a “tip of the day” or use the entire article, PLR articles can be a huge time saver for you.
2. Send them in your newsletter.
Need content for your newsletter? PLR articles are an option. Of course, if you’re developing a relationship with your readers, you may wish to edit the articles to make them your own voice. However, you can pull a section from a PLR article – use it as inspiration — and whip out a newsletter in minutes.
3. Start an ecourse
If you purchase a package of PLR articles based on a theme, it’s quite easy to turn them into an ecourse simply by adding them to your auto-responder. Something as simple as “Five Ideas for Kids Lunches” can become a 5 day ecourse to grow a big newsletter list.
4. Use them in your podcast
Take a PLR article and use it as inspiration for a podcast. Add the content and you’re done.
5. Send them in a print mailing
Direct mailing is huge. If you have a list of postal mailing addresses, put together a free report from PLR articles and send it out.
6. Create a special report
Simply bulk together some PLR articles that have the same topic, and make them flow into a special report. Turn it into a pdf file and give it away to your website visitors.
See how easy that is? The only hard part is finding a PLR service that is high quality and fits your niche. Look around. Make sure the PLR package or membership you choose provides you with high quality articles so you can create something you’ll be proud of.

I remember when PLR was considered way to expensive for the average person. And that was true when it came to really good PLR. Nicole has changed that.
Using PLR for my niche sites has been a real time saver. Especially when it comes to sparking new ideas and creating courses, video and podcasts.
Thanks Nicole.

P.S. Now it is your turn. Do you think well written PLR would be a good choice for your sites?

For the longest time, PLR was getting a bad rap. I think entrepreneurs viewed it as “cheating” and “cheesy”. Not so anymore! Nicole Dean has worked, tirelessly, to unveil the truth and the wonderful benefits of using PLR. She’s removed the stigma attached to taking advantage of the many ways PLR is an asset to your business.
In my opinion, no one has the time or energy to write everything themselves. If people choose to do that, they’ll have little or no time to market their businesses.
The key is, of course, choosing credible, top notch PLR — which Nicole certainly provides!
Pat Flynn recently interviewed Nicole Dean on the subject of PLR. Nicole made an interesting comment. She said folks should not worry about the number of PLR products on the market because most folks don’t use the PLR they have purchased. I found that to be very interesting. In other words, people buy PLR, put it in a folder and forget it’s there.
Perhaps it’s because they don’t know what to do with it. This post should encourage folks to get the PLR products off of their desktops and use it. Great ideas.
Thanks Nicole and Sheila… well done!

Hi Sheila
Up until right now I would have said I would not consider it as I want my ‘own voice’ on my blog. However, the fact that things can be changed and it can be used not just for articles on my blog but for ecourses has got me thinking.
I would love to be able to offer more on my blog but with only 24hrs in a day and I do need a few hours sleep each night; this could be just the answer. Thanks for sharing this information with us Sheila. Much appreciated.

Great idea Sheila. I really like this idea – - – used properly, of course, to enhance a blog. You would need a be a bit choosy though, of the quality and the writing style. Otherwise it may end up as much work to alter as writing your own blog. Still, a space to watch.

@Melanie,
You are so right! Nicole has done a great job to change things. She not only has quality products, she teaches how to use them.
It is always a pleasure to have you stop by.
@Kathy,
I know that I have had PLR sit in folders. Partly because it was too much effort to change it. The quality was not good and I did not know what to do. Things changed when I took a course from Robert Plank. There is so much you can do to change the PLR to make it your own.
@Patricia,
I do have my own voice on this blog. But I have also taken PLR and made it my own or worked it into other things I am doing. There are lots of ways to change it. Most often I will take the main concepts and rewrite them with keywords and my style. If you do not like using it for your blog, then you can use it for niche sites, free reports and video ideas.
As always I appreciate your input.
@Fiona,
So true, as with anything else quality counts. The idea is to make it easier on your self and still give your readers a quality product.
Hope all is well down under and you are settled in for Christmas.

Hey Sheila,
Thanks for the awesome article!
I wouldn’t exactly say I am starving my blog for content. When I first started blogging I thought the idea was to write as many articles as I could as fast as I could. For me that didn’t turn out to show the positive results I was hoping for.
Now I don’t focus so much on how fast I push out new articles. I focus more on pushing out consistent quality work. I have given myself a new posting schedule which is once a week same day same time.
For me this is proving to show much better results. Everyone just has to find out whT works best for them.
Thanks again!
God bless,

Nicole’s PLR is excellent and I appreciate that you included ways that Nicole highlighted that they can be used. There are some other really good PLR sites that I purchase content from at various times as well.
I use PLR articles as research material because I used to spend and still do spend too much time re-writing so my strategy now is to read the material, put it aside then combine my knowledge or other research with information I got from the articles and write my topic. They are a valuable resource. Thank you, Shiela.

Thanks for interesting article.
There are plenty of people behind PLR Products, including savvy internet marketers too. When it comes to PLR content, i don’t think they help much. I often see PLR Articles which are cheaply available and so already copied/pasted on internet in various forms like article marketing, blog post etc.. however depending on what particular product it is, PLR may be helpful to your business. I.e. PLR ebooks.

Very interesting! This is really a clever idea and have been used by many bloggers I know. As long as we chose carefully the articles that have not been used too many times, a smartly edited PLR article can still attract traffic.

yes, of course you could buy PLR articles; I think that PLR articles are a great way to get a website started; you can save lots of time when launching a new website or blog to buy some content rather then taking the time to create it yourself you can save from 3 to 6 months I believe in terms of getting some visitors to your new site. Even a better solution then this PLR type of content would be to invite some people for some guest blogging on your website, to write a review for you or about you, and ultimately to hire someone to create some targeted content for you. without content you can’t get anywhere on-line.
